I have noticed that Jedi do many things in and out of battle, with the force that could easily be done physically, are they getting lazy in their old age?

Well, you have to train your Force abilities, right? So it's not lazy, it's a different kind of training.

Its kind of like in the NJO books, many Jedi rely too much on the force and become physically lazy and unable to do much without the aid of the force. But I think that most Jedi rely too much on the force, they should get off of their butts and do some physically work and stuff.
